OUR STORY
My name is Kylie Haskins, and together with my husband Dave, we've recenty taken ownership of our family business, Craig Walker Building Removals Limited.

Christmas has always been a magical time of year for me - a time filled with joy, giving and childhood wonder. Yet, we also know that for many families, this time of year can be challenging. The inspriration for 'Joy in a Box' comes from one of my earliest Christmas memories.

When I was three years old, my parents, sister and I lived in a small rental in Riverhead. My Dad worked two jobs - preparing houses for removal by day and driving a petrol tanker for Mobil NZ by night. Times were tough and money was tight.

That Christmas, my parents had just $50 left until the next payday. They chose to spend it on a single gift for me - a bright yellow trike with a red seat, black wheels and tassels on the handlbars. I still remember the overwheming joy I felt unwrapping that present - the excitement, the magic and the love it represented.

That trike was more than a toy - it was a symbol of hope, joy and sacrifice. Today, my husband and I want to bring that same feeling to other families in our Community. We know times are tough for many and we want every child to experience a a little Christmas magic - the kind that brings joy, hope and love. Together we're spreading joy - one box a time.
